The short answer is no, there is literally top class hard enduro athletes such as Trystan Hart and Wade Young that can consecutively be seen on the podium at the highest level of racing internationally.
But the long answer is riding trials is more benedictional the younger you are. This is because it forces you to focus of the basics of riding a bike, clutch control, balance and body position.
Cementing the fundamentals of riding a bike at a young age. Though as we get older it is more benedictional to continue on the enduro bike as to ride a trials bike is a slightly different technique making the change not worth the gains. Listening to Wade Young on the hard enduro world podcast he privileges that he feels better practicing trials on his enduro bike then on his trial bike. Finally, it shouldn’t be overlooked that Hard Enduro has evolved and is now requiring more specific skills. Skills and techniques that can only be developed through hard enduro specific training and racing.
Hope this helps
Till next time legends :)
