Basically there are 3ļøā£ different tyre setups that work for gnarly shit
ā Mousse
ā Tubless + Half mousse
ā Tubless
Mousse
Firstly the mousse system is the most billit proof system as it has no air and the only thing that can fail are the rim locks.
How many rim locks do i needā
Over time the mousse will soften up esspecially if you shave or drill it therfore it is quite common to run multiple rim locks.
How many that is pretty much up to you and how paranoid you are about your tyre coming off.
Tubless + Half mousse
recently this system has became quite popular for races suchs as romaniacs hard enduro where the race can go from quite fast to super gnarly. it has also become popular along rider that do a range of riding, as it means that with you can easly switch between faster enduro flow one day to more extreme tracks the other day, without much hassle.
The advantage of running the half mousseā
ā You can run lower tyre pressure without risk of blowing your inner
ā Tyre pressure can be put all the way to 4-6 psi
ā Even if yoyu do put a whole in the tyre (Outer chamber) it dosn't matter you can keep riding without much risk of poping the inner
Tubless
āThe tubless system limits youy to only going down to 6-9 psi depending on the carcass of your tyre.
ā if you get a flat in the tyre (outer chamber) you are more likly to blow the inner chamber
ā Though as mentioned before you do get the andvantge of switch between lowish pressures to higher pressures depending on the ride
